Reducing Unemployment Problem in Uganda
Uganda’s unemployment problem, especially among youth, remains one of the country’s most pressing socio-economic challenges. Despite consistent GDP growth over the past decade, job creation has not kept pace with the expanding labour force. According to the Uganda Bureau of Statistics (UBOS, 2022), approximately 75% of the population is under 30 years, and youth unemployment and underemployment are widespread. Traditional employment sectors agriculture, manufacturing, and the public service have reached saturation, necessitating innovative alternatives.
